Ben Hogan’s Five Lessons

Soon after the publishing of “Five Lessons,” Ben Hogan began serving as a mentor to The Axial Club’s Founder & President, Larry Anton, at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, TX—often bringing him inside the ropes both during practice and in competition. With this special relationship, he was immersed in these timeless teachings as a young boy, exceling in the game and winning the Club Championship at Colonial at the age of 19. Drawing from lessons learned from Hogan both in golf and in life, Anton now utilizes his leadership experience in the private golf club industry to enable The Axial Club in delivering its mission to serve a collective of individuals who share a love of golf by providing unrivaled access and experiential opportunities across the globe.

As recognition of our Founder’s familial bond with one of golf’s greatest legends, The Axial Club crest was developed with a five-pointed crown—the same number of Pillars of The Axial Club.

As further tribute to Hogan's invaluable teachings on golf and fellowship—we constantly encourage our Membership to internalize and apply the “Five Lessons” as outlined below to their approach to the game:
